The East Ward

The East Ward and the Ironbound are virtually synonymous. The Ironbound was named for the railroads that surrounded it. Once the poorest ward of Newark, it is now the most prosperous, and will, in my opinion, be the first to gentrify. The Ironbound was spared highway and housing project construction and has some of the most interesting sights in Newark
